MOUNI ROY’s MALAYALI WEDDING OUTFIT

Paying ode to Suraj Nambiar’s Malayali roots, Bengali girl Mouni Roy made for a stunning South Indian bride in a white silk Kasavu saree designed by Anuradha Khurana. The saree was accentuated by jacquard and brocade gold zari work with bright red border, exuding a regal appeal. To accessorize her look she chose heavy gold temple jewelry that included a matha-patti, a nakshi work waist belt, jhumkas, bangles, a choker, and a long lakshmi haar crafted in pure 22-carat gold. Temple jewelry had carvings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. She completed her look with a quintessential kamarbandh and a gajra-adorned braid.

MOUNI ROY’s BENGALI WEDDING OUTFIT

Mouni honored her background by turning into a Bengali bride for the traditional ceremony. She donned a traditional red Sabyasachi lehenga consisting of a half-blouse, voluminous skirt and a matching dupatta, all accented with Sabyasachi’s signature crafts as bold floral motifs and statement borders. The breezy, and flared lehenga had bold floral motifs paired with a double organza dupatta inscribed with the blessing ‘Ayushvati Bhava’ embroidered in gold zari on the hem. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Roy’s bridal veil with a kiran trimming is strikingly similar to Deepika Padukone and Patralekhaa Paul’s wedding dupatta. Keeping with the gold palette of her red and gold Sabyasachi lehenga, Mouni Roy chose to wear traditional jewelry by Anmol Jewellers including a pair of chandbali earrings, choker, matha patti and a stack of bangles with uncut diamonds, emerald beads. Soft kohl-rimmed eyes, rosy cheeks, a red lip color and a sleek bun completed her wedding look.

MOUNI ROY’s AFTER WEDDING SANGEET OUTFIT

For her sangeet look, Mouni opted for a heavily embellished Falguni Shane Peacock golden lehenga set with a full-sleeved blouse and voluminous skirt with a dupatta to match. The traditional outfit comes replete with nude tulle panels that balance the heavy embellishments of the ensemble. It features a cropped backless blouse with a plunging sweetheart neckline, corseted bodice, intricate gold jali, sequins and beaded embroidery, and sheer nude panels on the sleeves. She accessorized the look with a statement gold and green necklace, maang tikka, and dangler earrings. The actress’ sangeet and mehendi jewels were designed by Roopali Golecha of Golecha Jewels. The necklace she wore was a double-sided piece. The front side was completely made of polki and emeralds, and the other side had emeralds, rubies, and diamonds. There were peacocks designed on the necklace. The muddle Polki was 36Ct and besides that, there were small peacocks that had small pieces of emeralds in their mouths. She paired her jewelry with an all-emerald earrings. There were 100 emeralds in the earrings, (50Ct each). The maang tikka was made of emerald and uncut diamond, giving it a classic bridal touch.
